ALCASAR is an access control portal to Internet for opened consultation networks. It's a software under the General Public Licence (GPL3).

It authenticates, attributes and protects accesses of the users regardless of connected equipments (PC, internet tablets PC, game consoles, mobile phones, PDA, etc. ). ALCASAR includes network filtering mechanisms permitting to meet various needs of organizations. ( firms, recreation centers, schools...)
In France, it allows internet consultation network managers to respect legal obligations.

ALCASAR is based on about twenty free software in order to constitute an authenticating secure captive portal.
Beyond these aspects, ALCASAR is used as a teaching aid within the context of network security techniques training courses.

ALCASAR is an independant project, currently managed by Richard Rey (rexy) and Franck Bouijoux (3abtux). The main contributions are the work of the "senior" developer Pascal Levant (angel95) and Stéphane Weber. As time goes by, the project monitoring team densified.
Some occasional contributors, identifiable on the forum, and a multitude of relentless testers complete the team.

We also thank you, ALCASAR users, for the experience feedback brought and for the good improvement ideas which do not stop fueling our imagination (and our evenings !)

The complete documentation of this project is available in the download section of this WEB site.
